Considering Law School

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

You have made the commitment to enter law school. The journey that precedes you will change you forever. Many of the admissions deans of the country’s top law schools will not hesitate to inform you that the hardest part of getting a degree from their school is getting in! At top law schools such as Yale, only 6 to 8 percent of those that apply get in. The battle of gaining admission to a top law school is enough to discourage all but the most determined applicants. The reason the application process to a top law school is so arduous is because the value of having a degree from one of these institutions is enormous.

Graduates of the top law schools earn two to three times the amount of those holding degrees from lesser law schools. Also graduates from the top law schools gain by having better choices of law firms, better job security and choosing to work in the legal disciplines that are the most interesting to them.
